16. Basic Technical Training

Tab computers and smart boards are identified as devices requiring technical training. The requirement of technical training by the respective supplier for the said equipment is also included in the specification reports prepared by the technical committee. 

It is sufficient that this training is only an introduction by the general supplier to the customer of the technology equipment safety and the technical points to be observed in the use of the equipment and the installed software.

There should be absolutely no possibility to charge or suggest extra money for this program. When the device is supplied, it is only something that comes under the ownership of a normal client.

An expert technology team with the necessary technical knowledge about the use and formal maintenance and quality of all types of computer-related equipment and social equipment provided to schools has been established by the Line Ministry circular 2010/23 called the “National Hardware and Networking Pool” to cover every education zone. We suggest that the team to be used as the necessary support service for the equipment provided by this project.

Accordingly, this technology training should be conducted as a one-day or several-hour program at a place designated by the Department of Education in the province only for the officers of the above pool and the Information and Communication Technology teachers of the schools providing the equipment or any other teacher nominated by the school.

The Ministry of Education conducts regular trainings for the above technology pool owned by the Southern Provincial Department and the Regional Zones so that it is sufficient to arrange awareness sessions about the technology and the operation of the devices. 

The necessary technology training at the school level will be provided by the above team and it will be included in the same module prepared for the educational technology workshop given to the teachers.
