Southern Province Smart Classroom Project Summary

17. Educational Technology Training on Effective Use of Smartboards and Tab Computers

Currently, the main problem that has been identified in the current friendly classrooms and tab  computer projects is the lack of understanding among the educational staff about how to use these  devices as an effective tool to achieve learning, rather than not knowing the technology to use such devices. Therefore, a formal training matching with educational principles and technology (International Pedagogical) has been planned together with the Information and Communication Technology Unit of the Southern Province Education Department and the Education Development Division.

18. Administration and Regulation

All assessment and learning materials related to this friendly classroom learning and teaching process are stored in Wisdom Cloud LMS, Google for Education, belonging to the Provincial Education Department of Education. These classrooms will be subjected to regular random remote monitoring by the Zonal and Provincial Education Departments and Zonal Divisions, Teacher Advisors and Subject Directors. In order to maintain the continuous internet facility required for this purpose, internet bill payment is already done by the regional offices. It is also intended to prepare a summary report of all the activities in these classrooms and review its impact on the learning and teaching process and use it for future projects.
